ALBION STREET BRUNSWICK

The brief for this project allowed the design of a separate, virtually self-contained modernist bungalow to the rear of the property.

Technically named a "Habitable Outbuilding" for town planing purposes it contains a studio / living area, bedroom and powder-room with toilet utility.

The studio has a low north facing window providing privacy from the refurbished original house and wall space to hang large painting. Clerestory windows to all side floods the space with natural light. A discrete linear kitchen and storage is situated under the clerestory bulkhead on the southern boundary side.

The original house is altered to give an additional bedroom, functional kitchen and laundry as well as a dining room, surrounded by bookcases to house the client's large book collection.
