WESTBOURNE ST. BRUNSWICK

The concept for the additions and alterations to this residence investigates the use of colour and materiality in an Australian setting.

The additions are to have vertical timber and zincalume cladding. The timber specified is to be yellow stringy bark, an extremely durable timber , which left unpainted fades to silver and can last like that for one hundred years. In combination with the zincalume the palette of materials is simplified in colour and when linked to the original heritage residence provides a clean collage.

The front verandah to the original heritage residence is restored to its War Service Commission Home typology.
